"Vintage" is a very well regarded and kept 49 Grand Banks classic. In terms of an ideal NW cruising yacht this Grand Banks represents a great value and should be strongly considered. The U shaped galley is down and on the port side. When ordered new this way the galley area has much more counter top space and more drawer storage. An over and under Grunert refrigerator and separate freezer, a Force-10 3 burner propane stove/oven and a GE microwave oven are also in the galley area. The galley is filled with lockers, cabinets and drawers for convenient storage of all sea stores and supplies.
It almost goes without saying that the Grand Banks Classic line of trawlers have always inherently benefited when it comes to visibility either from the bridge area or the lower helm. This particular 49 Grand Banks with her down galley also enhances the area of the boat you use the most - which is the salon. Upon entering either side deck house door one is impressed with all the interior room of the salon and the available seating.
The aft master stateroom on a Grand Banks 49 rivals many much larger yachts. It is wonderfully appointed and is located aft and features a centerline queen berth. This stateroom benefits from many windows and walk thru door to the aft deck area. Lots of natural light and great ventilation. There are numerous drawers located under the berth and throughout the stateroom. An enormous hanging locker is located on the port side forward. The master head is located on the starboard side of the stateroom and features a VacuFlush freshwater head, separate stall shower, stacked washer/dryer and plenty of storage.
The forward guest stateroom is located in the bow and is a huge V-berth. As an option there is a filler piece that makes V-berth into one large berth. The stateroom has ample storage with drawers below the berth and large hanging locker space with additional storage under the berth itself. Just aft on the starboard side is the guest head and shower. The head features a freshwater VacuFlush toilet and separate stall shower and lots of storage space. The spacious salon features a large L-settee to starboard with storage below and a Grand Banks yacht table for dining. There are doors to access the side decks on both port and starboard. The lower helm station is located on the starboard side forward.
Vessel is powered with Caterpillar 3208 V8 Turbo charged after cooled engines. They are rated at 375 hp each and displace an impressive 10.4 liters. Ideally this engine produces a lot of low end torque which comes in handy when bringing her to the dock. The stand up engine compartment also houses the ships generator which is totally enclosed.
Navigation and Electronics
Vintage has canvas covers for the cap rail teak, the side salon large windows, transom, name board, tender cover, OB motor, windlass, doors, flag poles, and the flybridge instruments.
The upper helm area features an L-settee on the starboard side with storage below. Owner has a custom made wood table that is much bigger than the standard table. Forward and aft facing seats are located forward with storage below as well. All flybridge cushions have been recently recovered. There is a full length bimini top that covers the entire bridge area. The bimini top frame has been custom built of high grade stainless steel and is welded at the connections to provide a substantially more sturdy bimini frame than normally found.
