"Relentless" is a 44 foot cutter rigged sailboat. She is cold molded cedar, sheathed with fiberglass, completed in 1988 and refurbished and updated in 2013.
Her owners have recently completed a summer tour in the Puget Sound and BC and have her ready for any adventure. They precisely set the boat up to be economic, easy to use for a couple, and updated to be a modern, yet classic cruiser.
Relentless is also fast. At 20,000lb displacement, she is 3-5k pounds lighter than the Hunters, Catalinas and Beneteaus of this size range. She also has a great deal of sail area (943 SqFt of Main and Genoa). On our short sea trial out of Anacortes she performed admirably in very, very light air.

Relentless was designed and built by Robert McGuire of Santa Barbara, California. The design follows the lines of Bruce Farr designed boats from the early 1980s, for example #89 and 100-1.
Relentless was built with top quality materials and outfitted with oversized rigging and components. The interior was simple without a lot of cruising gear that could fail and become dated. We added items as they became important to us. We sailed Relentless out of the Long Beach area of Southern California. We spent many a weekend in Catalina with our son and friends aboard. The boat was never challenged and never saw any weather of any kind.
In 2013 we sailed Relentless, no-stop, from Long Beach to Zihuatanejo, Mexico. We left the day after Christmas 2012 during a small craft warning. With only working sails we logged over 14 knots/hour for 6 to 8 hours. We then sailed, over four months, back up the coast to Cabo San Lucas from where we sailed back to Long Beach. We went out 600 miles southwest off shore and when the wind shifted tacked into Long Beach.
In May 2014 we shipped Relentless, on a ship, to Victoria, Canada and then headed to Alaska up through Southeast Alaska to Skagway, everywhere in between in Alaska and back to Anacortes, Washington. This summer (2015) we sailed the British Columbia waters including the San Juans of Washington, the Gulf Islands, up Jervis Inlet, through Desolation Sound up to and through the Broughtons and back to the Seattle Area.
Relentless is ready for just about anything. All systems have been upgraded and/or replaced for our recent cruises. This includes a new engine, head, electronics, autopilot, sails, refrigeration, heating, batteries, charging system……… Our recent cruises have served as a tune-up; not remotely taxing the boat or systems.
Detail plans, layup detail, a full manual and survey results for both hull and rigging are available, if desired. Last insurance survey was completed in 2012.

Fuel: 42 gals. In boat, 60 gals on deck for deliveries.
